The M3G120 series was developed using an established design methodology based on the M3G Series and space design heritage. The design included a selection of established reliability and known radiation performance components fully de-rated to NASA EEE-INST-002 and MIL-STD-1547B requirements. Available in single and dual output configurations, the DC-DC converters feature standard single output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, and 28V and dual output voltages of ±5V, ±12V and ±15V. Key features include total ionisation dose (TID) of over 200 krad (Si), single event effect (SEE) (Heavy Ions) with rated LET greater than 83 MeV-cm²/mg, integrated EMI filter, and weight of less than 110g in a compact hermetic 3.5 x 2.5 x 0.475-in. package including I/O pins and mounting tabs.

IR adds that the M3G design, which has been around since 1998, has been expanded over the years to meet the higher operating bus voltage requirements of 50V, 70V, and 100V. The introduction of the M3G120 Series of DC-DC converters now meets the demand for a robust, highly reliable 120V solution, the company says. The DC-DC converters also feature 95V to 140V DC input, up to 160V input transients, input under-voltage protection, synchronisation input/output and on/off control via converter’s Inhibit pin and Class K hybrid MIL-PRF-38534 qualified.
