Raytheon delivers more than 500 tactical AESA radars

Raytheon designed, developed and fielded the world’s first operational AESA radar for fighter aircraft in 2000. Since being introduced, the AESA systems have demonstrated significant reductions in customers’ operational lifecycle costs, providing significant improvement in system reliability compared with mechanically scanned array radars.
Recently, the U.S. Air Force completed development testing of the company’s next generation APG-82(V)1 AESA radar for the F-15E Strike Eagle, and began operational testing and evaluation in March 2013. Initial operational test and evaluation is an integral part of the U.S. Air Force’s Radar Modernization Program to ensure F-15E mission superiority in an increasingly sophisticated threat environment.
Raytheon’s multi-mode, multi-function family of AESA radars delivers a dramatic increase in warfighter capability — including simultaneous air-to-air and air-to-ground operations, along with superior detection, targeting, tracking and self-protection features.
