However it is also being designed into tablet computers and smartphones, Krzanich said. A demonstration was given of a RealSense-equpped tablet computer being used to input physical items into a computer database, including dimensions. The application has been developed with a Chinese warehousing and distribution company allowing a reduction in time for data entry from 3 minutes to 5 seconds, Krzanich said.

Krzanich also showed a prototype 6-inch smartphone with a longer-range Intel RealSense camera built into the device. However, he did not demonstrate it in operation.
