Renault is re-structuring its development and procurement activities by the end of the year.
The Renault group agreed the changes with partners Nissan and Mitsubishi, and is now in discussions with employee representatives.
By the end of 2023, the Alliance’s organization will move from a standardized global model towards a project‑driven cooperation.
This new set-up will ensure quicker decisions and operational efficiencies for projects developing technologies and vehicles in Europe, Latin America, and India.
- Renault plans extensive reorganisation – and massive layoffs
- Valeo teams for the software-defined vehicle
- Geely to set up global powertrain joint venture
The Alliance purchasing organization will evolve into distinct organizations focused on a project-by-project approach. The leading company of a given project will have the autonomy to define the specifications and processes to match the product requirements of each company while complying with regulations for the related region.
This will enable more agile decisions and suit regional requirements, says Renault, using each partner’s geographical strengths, technical resources, and market expertise.
