Renesas expands IP license offering
Renesas is also looking to provide a system IP that includes PIM (processing in memory), for AI acceleration. The new IP will allow the designer to quickly begin advanced semiconductor device developments. The IP is available to customers designing custom chips or using FPGA devices to speed subsystem design or software development. To support these development efforts, Renesas has also established a network of partner companies. The network includes contract semiconductor design houses and partners who develop software and middleware tools. Renesas will also look to provide experienced users with model-based design tools that can get the best out of the IP.
Renesas has been offering solutions from its IP license portfolio since September 2017. The initial launch offered access to over 40 licenses, including CPU cores, timer IP for motor applications, USB cores, and SRAM.
