Renesas fabs in China back to normal operation

The wafer fabs – in Beijing and Suzhou – resumed partial production on February 10 after a shutdown. The Beijing wafer fab, a former Mitsubishi plant, makes microcontrollers and SRAMs. In Suzhou Renesas makes microcontrollers, microprocessors, logic devices, analog devices and discrete semiconductors.

Meanwhile Renesas production sites in Malaysia temporarily halted production on March 18 due to a government movement control order but have subsequently resumed operations.

Renesas Semiconductor (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. in Penang makes some sensors and power semiconductors and has resumed operation from and is running a limited capacity. Similarly the Renesas Semiconductor KL Sdn. Bhd. assembly plant and Integrated Device Technology Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. which becomes Renesas Electronics (Penang) Sdn. Bhd. with effect from April 1.
