Renesas offers secure sensor-to-cloud dev kit
Renesas has created a Wi-Fi cloud connectivity kit that integrates RX231 microcontrollers with Intrinsic ID’s authentication and Medium One’s cloud services and workflows.
RX231 MCUs are based on the RXv2 CPU core with DSP and FPU capability and the kit comes with pre-programmed with an IoT authentication demo based on SRAM physically unclonable functions buried within the MCUs and that links through to Medium One’s cloud-based computing and data intelligence platform. The RX231 Wi-Fi Cloud Connectivity Kit also comes pre-programmed with a smart machine demo that allows developers to set up a cloud platform with dashboards and analytics for streaming real-time data to their account.
RX231 is clocked at 54MHz and the MCU board has 4 PMOD connectors. The GT202 Wi-fI module uses the Qualcomm QCA4002 Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n modem SoC. There is a PMOD-mounted Analog Devices ADXL362 3-axis MEMS accelerometer: an Arduino shield socket and a USB Type B connector for power and USB 2.0 device interface.
The RX231 Wi-Fi connectivity kit is available from Renesas and is priced at $59.
