In 2007, Intel discontinued this family of microcontrollers, at which point Rochester Electronics acquired the intellectual property of these devices to continue helping Intel’s customer base for this specific family. Through its Extension-of-Life programs, Rochester Electronics currently offers this family in a variety of packages, temperature ranges and speeds, including military versions for the 80C196KB, 87C196KC and KD.

Tested to OSM standards, all devices manufactured by Rochester Electronics are replicas of the original semiconductor devices, featuring the exact form, fit and function.
