Rigol has equipped the instrument with a newly-designed low-noise analogue front end and expanded the hardware-based real-time waveform recording capabilities. Vertical resolution has been expanded across the entire bandwidth of up to 300 MHz, depending on the model. The new scope utilises Rigol’s UltraVision series developed for the company’s DS6000 series, offering sampling rates of up to 2 Gsamples/sec and memory capacities of up to 56 million frames. The 8in. screen displays up to 50,000 records/sec. The 16 trigger options include runt, setup-hold, windows, nth edge and automatic measurement functions with statistics. A range of maths functions as well optional decoding of I2C, SPI, RS-232 and CAN bus rounds off the catalogue of functions. A multi-language user interface is standard.

Optionally available is a two-channel arbitrary function generator with a bandwidth of 25 MHz. This option facilitates the download of measurement signals acquired and then using them for stimulation and signals generating without the need of an external generator or PC-based software tools.
