Output voltage and current limits can be set before the output is enabled, and these may be adjusted when in use. Current limit can either be constant or trip, selectable from the front panel. At switch-on, or following a power interruption, the unit defaults to ‘output-disabled’ or ‘constant current’ mode. Polarity is factory preset and must be specified at time of ordering.
The output is via a screened connector, with 2-m of cable supplied as standard. For safety reasons, the GES HS40 output connector is touch-proof even when unmated. The RO-HV 30-1 is EC Directive 73/23/EEC and BS EN61010-1: 2001 compliant, as demonstrated by safety analysis REL 10196. The HV connector supplied with the power supply also complies with IEC60664-1. The unit is output short-circuit protected to a maximum of 6 A, and the output is tripped if it exceeds the set voltage by approximately 3 kV.
The RO-HV 30-1 measures 276 mm wide (including clearance for the input and output connections) by 266 mm deep by 70 mm high. It weighs 2.5 kg and is housed in a flame retardant (UL94-V0), high-impact polystyrene enclosure. The RO-HV 30-1 is designed to meet the EMC Directive 89/336/EEC and the Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC.
