The response time of the sensor, which is marketed under the TDK Epcos brand, is only 1.2 s, making measurements with rapid temperature changes possible. At 25 °C the resistance is 48.5 kΩ, at 100 °C 3.3 kΩ. The B-value (20/100) is almost 4000 K.
Electrically the sensor is designed for high safety and passes a high voltage test with 4 kV AC, whereby a maximum leakage current of only 0.1 mA occurs. The combination of wide measuring range and robust ceramic housing makes the new sensor suitable for a wide range of applications in industrial and automotive electronics. It can also be used in household appliances.
