A new high-definition mode increases the vertical resolution of the RTO and RTE product families up to 16 bit, resulting in a 256-fold gain in resolution in comparison with the 8-bit standard mode. The higher resolution can be achieved through digital low-pass filter for the measurement signal after passing the ADC. This reduces noise, effectively improving the signal-noise ratio. The higher resolution enables the instrument to display a more defined signal; details hitherto hidden in noise can be identified much better.

The RTM family of general-purpose oscilloscope has recently be extended through a new model with a bandwidth of 200MHz. For all bandwidth models available is an option for history and segmented memory which expands the memory depth to the extraordinary value of 460 MSamples per channel. This deep, segmented memory is very useful for the complete analysis of data sequences with long interruptions such as pulsed signals or data packets on serial I2C buses.

With a number of triggering and decoding options as well with as options for compliance tests Rohde & Schwarz helps users in different application worlds to perform tasks such as design verification, initial operation and debugging as well as conformance tests. For users in the automotive market, trigger and decoding analysis solutions for the fast data bus protocol CAN FD are available for the RTE and RTO oscilloscopes. An option available for the RTO enables conformance tests of BroadR-Reach automotive Ethernet interfaces. For users in the area of mobile communications and embedded designs, R&S recently rolled out two options for the RTO model, enabling it to analyse signals in the MIPI-RFFE as well as the USB1.0/1.1 and USB 2.0 interfaces. Also new is the option for automated MIPI D-PHY conformance tests for developers of components for smartphones and mobile terminals with MIPI D-PHY implementation.

For the entry-level market segment, R&S recently has introduced the HMO1002 with features like fanless operation, a memory depth of 1 MPts and a sample rate of 1 GSa/s in real-time. The instrument offers a vertical sensitivity of 1 mV/Div and an integrated FFT feature with 128k measurement points – data that set new standards in this market segment.

At Embedded World, Rohde & Schwarz will showcase its entire portfolio of oscilloscopes on its stand in hall 4 / 4-218.
