Rotational sensor offers robustness, compactness
The sensor from manufacturer Piher (Tudela, Spain) in the plug-in design captures the position data directly at the source. The slimline housing, which is only 9 mm thick, contains two separate contactless components: a full-circuit magnet and a separate electronic module. The manufacturer guarantees a service life of at least 50 million rotational cycles for the straight-through sensor, which is easy to integrate without mechanical interfaces.
Another tailor-made solution – a non-contact air gap sensor – is suitable for all applications where a poor adjustment significantly affects the operating behavior. The Piher air gap sensor ensures a stable measurement data acquisition and compliance with the specified linearity within specified radial and axial tolerances. Again Piher separated the modules. In this non-contact, unique technical solution, an arcuate magnet is attached to rotating parts such as cantilevers, blades of skid steer loaders or clutch arms, and the electronics module on the chassis (or vice versa).
Piher sensors are in distribution through WDI AG (Wedel, Germany).
