RS and Cypress launch Bluetooth IoT design competition
‘Make With Mesh’ challenges developers to create a project based around Cypress’ new Bluetooth IoT boards, specifically the: EZ-BT Bluetooth Mesh Development Kit and the CYW20819 Bluetooth 5.0 Arduino Evaluation Board, both available from RS.
The two boards provide ultra-low-power consumption and full support for Bluetooth Mesh. Cypress is a leader in Bluetooth Mesh with the industry’s first SIG-compliant Bluetooth Mesh Solution.
The first phase of the competition is open until 7th June and asks contestants to provide a brief description of the project; which kits are being used; the Bluetooth technology to be used; plus details on how users will interact with the project. The second phase of the contest runs from 21st June to 2nd August. Free Cypress development kits will be provided to 25 selected submissions from the first phase. Unchosen participants may participate in phase two using their own kits. The second stage asks participants to submit an article on DesignSpark with a completed overview of the project, including documentation, BoM, code, and block diagrams.
The winner will receive a £500 shopping basket of products available from RS, along with £120 worth of Cypress products. Two runners-up prizes are worth up to £120 of Cypress products that are available in stock at RS.
