RS Components, MikroElektronika and Cypress Semiconductor team up to create flexible platform
The new development kit has been developed to provide a mid-point solution between power hungry application processors and low-performance MCUs. The PSoC 6 uses two different processors, an Arm Cortex M4 and an Arm Cortex M0+, on chip to give developers a choice between performance and power-efficiency. This flexibility is combined with security based on a trusted execution environment (TEE) to provide secure boot, secure storage and advanced cryptographic algorithms without overheads.
The Clicker 2 board, which is available exclusively through RS, allows developers to get PsoC 6 projects up and running quickly. The board has a PSoC 63 Connectivity Line device, which is Bluetooth 5 compliant and makes interfacing to other devices easier. There are also two mikroBUS interface headers for further expandability using MikroElektronika click boards. The many click boards available come with working code, allowing easy access to functions, such as GSM, GPS/GNSS, motor control, radio, sensors, meters and displays. The two click board slots allow developers to create a large number of different architectures.
