Rutronik Adds Renesas Microcontrollers for IIoT Endpoint Security
These additions are designed to meet the security challenges for endpoint applications in automation and smart meters. Developers of these applications are often faced with the challenge of guaranteeing security, while providing better connectivity and without making compromises in performance. The RX65N/RX651 MCUs help by providing multiple security options to allow developers to choose the best one for each particular application. The MCUs feature encryption keys protected by Trusted Secure IP and include AES, 3DES, SHA, and TRNG encryption accelerators in hardware.
The devices also have a secure Flash area to protect the boot code, and protect and dual-bank functions to prevent Flash being overwritten accidentally, while still allowing secure updates. The dual bank memory feature supports both BGO (Back Ground Operation) and SWAP functions.
RX65N/RX651 MCUs are powered by a RXv2 core with a 4.55 CoreMark at 120MHz, or 4.35 at 240MHz. They also feature an embedded TFT controller, a 2D graphic accelerator and are capable of driving QVGA colour TFT displays without external RAM.
