Saelig adds PicoScope 6000E mixed-signal oscilloscopes
The scopes also feature up to 5GSa/s sampling rate with 4GSa memory, letting them display single-shot pulses at 200ps time resolution.
There are three new 4-channel models that have been added to the existing 8-channel 6000 series. These are the PicoScope 6403E with 300MHz bandwidth and 8-bit A/D resolution, the PicoScope 6404E with 500MHz bandwidth and 8-bit A/D resolution, and the PicoScope 6424E with 8, 10, or 12 bits “FlexRes” resolution. Screen update rate is 300,000 waveforms per second.
It is possible for all three models to operate with an additional 4 bits of resolution through the enhanced vertical resolution software feature. The feature is a digital signal processing technique that is built into PicoScope 6. The oscilloscopes also provide 8 or 16 optional digital channels when using the plug-in TA369 MSO pods.
The new 6000E models have an integrated 14-bit 200MS/s 50MHz arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) with a variable sample clock to avoid jitter on waveform edges. The AWG can generate accurate frequencies down to 100μHz. It is possible to create and edit AWG waveforms through the built-in editor. A SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface and hardware acceleration allow a smooth and responsive display even with long captures. The free PicoScope 6 software comes with decoders for over 20 serial protocols.
The PicoScope’s FFT spectrum display has up to a million points, with high-frequency resolution and a low noise floor. A click of a button will display a spectrum plot of the active channels, with a maximum frequency of up to 500MHz.
The 6000E’s 4 or 8 analog channels feature both the timing and amplitude resolution required to reveal signal integrity challenges like glitches, runts, dropouts, noise, distortion and ringing. It also provides the waveform memory, resolution and analysis tools required for testing high-performance embedded computers and next-generation embedded system designs.
