Safran picks BrainChip for manufacturing machine vision
A year ago BrainChip agreed to acquire Spikenet Technology SA (Toulouse, France) a software company focused on computer vision applications.
Safran is a major contractor for electrical systems used in aerospace systems and will, with BrainChip, develop a machine vision inspection system to help control pin insertion in connectors for wiring harnesses. The system will utilize BrainChip’s neural network technology coupled with augmented reality, the company said.
Louis DiNardo, BrainChip president and CEO, said the company is focused on three markets: gaming, civil surveillance and machine vision.
