Samsung Ventures continues to invest in silver nanowire-based solutions
In 2011 SVIC had invested $5m in Cambrios.
“SVIC’s second investment in Cambrios confirms the importance of our technology and our specific materials for the display industry,” said John LeMoncheck, President and CEO at Cambrios Technologies. “Samsung’s shareholding will reinforce our leading position and help serve our customers better.”
Cambrios’ ClearOhm coating material is made from highly conductive silver nanowires which claim to offer higher optical and electrical performance than previous generation transparent conductive materials like indium tin oxide (ITO). ClearOhm ink is being used to produce the world’s highest performance transparent conductive films enabling innovative products such as touch panels and displays, as well as OLED lighting tiles and solar cells.
