Sectigo to provide automated factory certificate provisioning for Infineon
The integration of IoT Identity Manager with OPTIGA TPM 2.0 will provide a full certificate management solution, including issuance and renewal. The process will begin on the factory floor, with secure certificate creation and insertion using the OPTIGA TPM for private key storage.
The Sectigo-Infineon solution for secure storage allows the provision of enhanced levels of security for the protection of devices and the assurance of compliance to current and future IoT security standards and regulations.
TPM is a specialized chip on an endpoint device. It is intended to provide secure key storage to protect keys against attacks. The newly announced joint solution will insert the certificates into the device during manufacturing, when the device is first provisioned into a network, or into the TPM chip itself before the chip is shipped to the customer. Installing certificates into the TPM chip before manufacturing gives manufacturers the ability to track the component throughout the supply chain, giving protection from device counterfeiting.
