Secure & fast networking for automotive body electronics
Cypress is sampling devices in its single-power-supply Traveo automotive microcontroller (MCU) family; the S6J342xxx series supports the Controller Area Network Flexible Data-rate (CAN FD) standard for high-speed, in-vehicle networking. The MCUs address the critical need to secure data on in-vehicle networks with enhanced Secure Hardware Extension (eSHE) support, preventing unauthorized connections to electronic control units (ECUs).
The MCUs are built in a 40nm embedded charge-trap (eCT) Flash technology for higher performance and reliability, with an ARM Cortex-R5 core at 132-MHz and feature up to 1 MB of high-density embedded flash for application storage. A partial wake-up mode allows the MCUs to minimize average power consumption. Cypress offers a broad range of variations in the series that enables OEM customers to develop derivative solutions.
The Traveo S6J342xxx series is sampling now and will be in production in early 2017. The MCUs are available in a 100-pin thermally enhanced quad flat package (TEQFP), 120-pin TEQFP, 144-pin TEQFP and 176-pin TEQFP, as well as in a 100-pin low profile quad flat package (LQFP), 120-pin LQFP and 144-pin LQFP.
