SEMICON Japan 2025 to highlight advances in AI and sustainable chip design
SEMICON Japan 2025 is set to make Tokyo Big Sight the epicenter of the global semiconductor industry this December 17–19. The event will feature more than 1,200 exhibitors and a packed agenda of seminars and forums exploring everything from advanced packaging and chiplets to AI, robotics, and photonics.
SEMICON Japan offers a front-row view into the innovations shaping semiconductor manufacturing and design — from next-gen materials to sustainability strategies — all within one of the industry’s most dynamic markets.
New summits tackle AI and metrology
This year’s theme, AI x Sustainability x Semiconductor, will anchor the new AI x Sustainability x Semiconductor Summit, highlighting how artificial intelligence and green technologies intersect across the semiconductor value chain. Another major addition is the Metrology and Inspection Summit (MIS), aimed at advancing quality assurance in chip fabrication.
Alongside these debuts, SEMICON Japan will host two concurrent events: the Advanced Packaging and Chiplet Summit (APCS) and the Advanced Design Innovation Summit (ADIS). APCS will bring together leaders in packaging and board assembly, while ADIS focuses on next-generation chip design and verification technologies.
The Strategic Materials Conference (SMC) will also make its Japan debut on December 16, the day before SEMICON Japan officially opens. This invite-only event gathers executives and researchers to explore new materials and market trends driving AI and advanced semiconductor development.
Industry heavyweights headline speaker lineup
The speaker lineup features some of the biggest names in the semiconductor and technology ecosystem: Mukesh Khare, GM and VP of Hybrid Cloud Research at IBM Semiconductors; Scott DeBoer, EVP of Micron Technology; Akiko Kudo, EVP at NTT Docomo Business; and Toshiki Kawai, President and CEO of Tokyo Electron.
Attendees can also expect rich discussions through the SEMI Market Forum, Semiconductor Materials Forum, and Bulls & Bears, where Japan’s leading analysts will dissect semiconductor market and investment trends.
Fostering talent and collaboration
SEMICON Japan isn’t only about technology — it’s also about people. The Thursday Wakamono Night and Mirai College events aim to engage students and young engineers, while the Women in Business panel promotes diversity across the industry. University and college research exhibitions will showcase the next wave of semiconductor talent and innovation.
On the interactive side, two new projects — The Game, a SoC design card game, and Circuit Design, a student competition — add a hands-on educational twist. Meanwhile, the Semiconductors & e-Sports section will explore the intersection between gaming and semiconductor technologies, featuring professional player demos.
