Sensor evaluation board speeds prototyping
The Omron 2JCIE-EV01 Sensor Evaluation Board includes sensors for six environmental parameters, comes with data acquisition software and has expansion connectors for interfacing to external sensors.
The six integrated sensors measure temperature, humidity, pressure, light, sound and acceleration. It can be expanded using the connector to add the Omron D6T thermal sensor, D6F-PH MEMS differential pressure sensor, B5W-LB optical sensor or B5W-LD air quality / dust sensor. A second connector allows Qwiic compatible sensors to be added. The code for the sensor data acquisition has been placed on GitHub by Omron.
The board’s sensors are based upon Omron’s 2JCIE-BL01 USB environmental sensor module. It board also features internal data logging and can accumulate data for approx. 3 months (based on a communication frequency of once every 5 mins). The board has Bluetooth 5.0 to connect to devices, such as smartphones. Threshold values can be set for alerts.
There are three variants of the 2JCIE-EV01 Sensor Evaluation Board, one each for the Raspberry Pi, Arduino or Adafruit Feather.
