The module is intended for applications where accurate current measurement under conditions of widely changing temperature is essential, such as battery monitoring for industrial, automotive, and energy storage, as well as photovoltaic arrays and drive controls.

The SFP102MOD achieves a resolution of 45 µA. When attached to properly sized cables/bus bars, the SFP102MOD operates with 200 A of continuous current, producing less than a 45°C temperature rise. It features built-in Coulomb counting (charge accumulation), with separate counters for charge, discharge, and total Coulombs to enable accurate state-of-charge estimation.

Operating from a supply voltage of 3.3V to 12V, the SFP102MOD consumes under 30 mW at 3.3V. Communication interface signals are automatically adjusted (level-shifted) to the full supply voltage levels. The device has an isolated front end for high-side or low-side current sensing and attenuation of system-induced noise.

For applications requiring greater accuracy, Sendyne offers individually calibrated units that achieve 0.05% accuracy up to 50A and 0.1% accuracy up to 200A. The standard SFP102MOD costs $48 each (100). Product data sheet here.
