The high-speed data streaming functionality is integrated into the IZT S1010 by means of very fast SSDs which make it possible to stream a large number of VSGs (Virtual Signal Generators) in parallel. Using the powerful streaming feature allows multiple DAB ETI (Ensemble Transport Interface) or EDI (Encapsulation of DAB Interfaces) signals to be modulated in real-time in order to test receivers, radios and chips. In addition, MRC (maximum ratio combining) tests are possible in this configuration. MRC is a method of combining the signals from multiple diversity branches.

The IZT S1010 comprises all the related digital processing and is equipped with 4 x 1 TB SSD (optional) and a 250 GB SSD system disk. These disks are accessible from outside with robust HDD trays and are used to store and stream test vectors at high speed. As there are no moving parts for the SSD, the IZT S1010 is very robust and can be used in harsh environments and at high altitude.

The IZT S1010 features a Graphical User Interface (GUI). The internal TFT has a built-in multi-touch controller which ensures enhanced usability. The device can be controlled from the internal TFT or using external displays. Remote operation is also possible. The IZT S1010 is housed in a 19″ chassis with three rack units’ height. Adding RF hardware and software options allows the IZT S1010 to be configured to specific user needs.

In addition, the IZT S1010 is available with a 10 Gbit optical LAN interface for rapid data transfer from an internal S1010-SSD storage device and from an external data storage medium.

IZT (Innovationszentrum für Telekommunikationstechnik GmbH IZT) is a spin-off of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Germany’s leading institution for applied research. Founded in 1997 in Erlangen, the company emanated from the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS). The Innovationszentrum für Telekommunikationstechnik GmbH IZT speciales in the most advanced digital signal processing and field programmable gate array (FPGA) designs in combination with high frequency and microwave technology.
