
Small IMUS optimized for autonomous applications
The M-G370 offers Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) class performance while the M-G365 will be the standard for the Epson’s next-generation IMU. Both devices feature triple gyroscopes supporting ±450°/s and a tri-axis accelerometer capable of ±4G / ±10G, outputting tilt angles (X & Y axis) and Euler angles (Roll & Pitch) at up to 2,000 Samples per second. The new IMUs were developed to support practicable autonomous driving and navigation. The units only draw 16mA at 3.3V.
The M-G370 features a newly-developed gyroscopic sensor that provides sharply improved in-run bias instability, down to 0.8°/hr, angular random walk, and noise performance. A newly-developed accelerometer provides dramatically improved in-run bias instability performance of 6uG (compared to 50uG for its predecessor the M-G364) and initial bias error of 2mg (1σ).
The M-G365 features a high-speed DSP with an extended Kalman filter for highly accurate real-time attitude angle output (Roll/Pitch/Yaw) at low power consumption. It eliminates the need for high-speed calculation of dynamic attitude angle on the system end, thus reducing system load and power consumption.
