With a pressure noise equal to a height measurement variation of only 5 cm, the LPS22HH provides improvements in various control applications, such as collision avoidance of drones and other unmanned vehicles. The device’s outstanding accuracy also benefits smartphones and sports watches, such as indoor navigation.

The built-in temperature compensation also relieves the host microcontroller or application processor, helping to save energy and ensure smooth operation over the entire temperature range. A high degree of stability over a wide range of operating conditions also increases the performance of devices such as gas meters, weather stations and wearables.

The LPS22HH builds on the latest advances ST has made in MEMS structures and the controlling ASIC and offers performance improvements. The proven, fully encapsulated enclosure has miniaturized openings to prevent the ingress of particles, ensuring excellent reliability.

In terms of energy-saving features, the LPS22HH offers a power-down mode with 0.9 µA current consumption and low power consumption during active operation. Since only 4 µA is absorbed at 1 Hz including temperature compensation, maximum battery life is achieved. Support for I2C, SPI and the MIPI I3CSM two-wire sensor bus interface provides flexible digital connectivity. A generous 128-bit FIFO memory is also integrated for storing sensor data to minimize host intervention.
