The investment will allow Silvair to commercialize its end-to-end smart lighting platform. In addition, says the company, which was formerly known as Seed Labs and based in Poland, the new funds will help it grow its marketing and customer support capabilities internationally.

“Our team has made an enormous effort over the recent years, developing truly innovative smart lighting solutions and driving development of the Bluetooth Mesh standard. This is what allowed us to earn the trust of a stable and visionary investor which will now help us take things to another level,” said Rafal Han, CEO of Silvair in a statement.

The round was led by Poland-based investment fund company Trigon TFI, with Digital Garage, CyberAgent Ventures, and New Europe Ventures, as well as several of the company’s original angel investors also participating. Trigon TFI – recently awarded the title of ‘2016 Top Fund of the Year – Domestic’ by the CEE Capital Markets summit – is Poland’s most dynamically growing asset manager, employing the highest number of fund managers and equity analysts across the Polish investment universe.

According to Pawel Burzynski, Vice President of Trigon TFI, “We are impressed with all that Silvair has managed to achieve so far, and are excited to assist the company in transforming the commercial building automation landscape.”

Silvair is developing the world’s first fully scalable smart lighting platform. It is a complete set of hardware and software solutions enabling multi-service mesh lighting networks that drive efficiencies and generate revenues across all types of commercial spaces.

The Bluetooth-based solution is designed to ensure seamless network provisioning/reconfiguration and personalized lighting experience, while at the same time offering other features such as occupancy sensing, beacons-via-lighting, asset and people tracking, predictive product maintenance or energy intelligence. The platform is currently using a wireless communication protocol based on Bluetooth Smart, but can be updated over-the-air to Bluetooth Mesh as soon as the standard is adopted by the Bluetooth SIG.

“We are at a thrilling point right now, with the Series A financing already completed and the formal adoption of the global Bluetooth Mesh standard just around the corner, adds Han. “We’ve contributed to its development like no other company, and we firmly believe it will mark the beginning of a new era in the commercial smart lighting segment. We also believe we’re perfectly positioned to become the world’s number one provider of multi-service mesh lighting networks for professional applications.”
