The devices are more compatible with standard industrial integration and handling processes for high volume production, such as robotic pick and place and oven reflow, allowing thermal camera makers to further automate their assembly lines, lower the cost of integration and thereby boost production in line with the growing demand for thermal imaging equipment used for outdoor leisure activities.

Delivered in a 16.5×16.5×4.2mm package, the Pico384 Gen2 offers QVGA resolution (384×288 pixels) with a maximum frame rate up to 60Hz at full resolution. Its spectral response is within 8 to 14μm, with a thermal sensitivity better than 60 mK for a sharp contrast. The chip draws under 220mW with integrated ADC and DACs, making it attractive for other portable applications like thermography, firefighting and surveillance.
