Software-configurable Analogue Front End has integrated ADC

A universal input AFE, AD4110-1 eases the design of “platform” input modules that can be configured for multiple functions.

The AD4110-1’s high voltage inputs are fully software configurable for current or voltage signals, allowing direct interface to all standard industrial analogue signal sources. One reference design replaces many, reducing module size and decreasing cost of ownership.

The AD4110-1 comes in a 40-lead LFCSP package. Key features of the AFE include an integrated, fully differential programmable gain amplifier (PGA) that offers 16 gain settings from 0.2 to 24, internal, front-end diagnostic functions to indicate overvoltage, undervoltage, open wire, overcurrent, and overtemperature conditions and a thermally protected, overcurrent limited, and overvoltage protected high voltage input.
