Software enhances satcom functionality of rack-mount spectrum analyser
The CSM (Communication System Monitoring) software, which has been developed by satcom technology specialist INRADIOS, provides a convenient way of using the spectrum analyser to monitor, track and classify the data signals from a satellite transponder.
Featuring a graphical user interface, the software facilitates tasks such as satellite identification, detection of adjacent satellite interference, scanning of spectra, and identification of different modulation types, e.g. DVB-S2, DVB-S, IESS and DVB-RCS. It also offers a number of advanced reporting and statistical functions, including the ability to generate constellation diagrams and perform signal quality analyses.
The NRA series spectrum analyser itself is a 1U-high 19-in. instrument that utilises FFT technology to carry out rapid and accurate measurements on signals in the frequency range 9 kHz to 6 GHz. As well as being suited to a variety of satcom applications, it also provides an excellent solution for wideband monitoring in the broadcast industry and for managing communication services such as GSM, UMTS, LTE and WiMAX.
Ideal for use in mobile systems or wherever space is limited, the spectrum analyser weighs less than 5 kg and operates noiselessly without the need for fan cooling. It features both 100BASE-TX Ethernet and USB connections and a simple ASCII-based command set for remote control.
