Solar socket sticks to window to provide power

Kyuho Song and Boa Oh developed the Window Socket as a simple solar charger that attaches to a window via a suction pad and immediately begins producing electricity. The device has a plug socket that can be used to charge small devices directly or act as a fully portable charge station.

The first prototype uses a 1000mAh battery that charges up in five to eight hours and provides up to 10 hours of power. As an example of the power storage, an iPhone 5 has a 1,440 mAh battery, while the iPhone 6 Plus battery has 2,915 mAh. The next generation design aims to boost the battery capacity.
