Shenzhen SpinQ Technology Co. Ltd., a 2018 startup, has released two portable quantum computers based on nuclear magnetic resonance, called the Gemini Mini Pro and the Triangulum Mini.

The company trades as SpinQ but is more formally known as Shenzhen Liangxuan Technology Co. Ltd.

The Gemini Mini Pro is a superconducting 2-qubit system based on the previous Gemini Mini. The Gemini Mini Pro improves performance while maintaining the desktop formfactor of 350mm by 260mm by 200mm. The unit has a coherence time of 200ms or more can perform 80 single-bit quantum gate operations or 40 dual-bit quantum gate operations.

The fidelity of single-qubit gates is improved from 99.0 to 99.6 percent, and the fidelity of two-qubit gates is improved from 98.0 to 99.3 percent.

The rule of three

SpinQ has also launched the Triangulum Mini, a portable quantum computer with three qubits, similar in size to a regular laptop and weighing 16kg. Both units operate stably at room temperature. The Triangulum Mini has a coherence time of at least 200ms and can perform 20 or more single-bit quantum gate operations or 6 or more multibit quantum gate operations.

Triangulum Mini supports 3-qubit complete quantum gate operations, free design of quantum algorithms, classical-quantum hybrid programming, and open underlying hardware functions.

“Our original intention for launching the portable NMR quantum computer is to allow every student to have access to quantum computing education, so that quantum computers no longer exist only in science fiction but become machines that everyone can own,” said Jingen Xiang, founder and CEO of SpinQ.

SpinQ has also released web-based EDA software called Tianyi to allow researchers and engineers to engage in quantum chip design and simulation.

The software provides a library of superconducting quantum chip parameterized components that users can modify and add customized components. The software integrates automated routing.

QPU foundry

SpinQ has a dedicated quantum chip production line and provides both standard chip products with 2, 10, or 20 qubits and customized chip design and processing services.

Tiejun Meng, CTO of SpinQ, said: “After many years of layout, SpinQ has completed the full process coverage from chip design, manufacturing, packaging, testing to chip product delivery in the field of superconducting quantum chips. With its dedicated quantum chip production line, it can provide users with comprehensive, integrated quantum chip solutions, and help promote the vigorous development of quantum computing scientific research and industry applications.”

SpinQ has also developed a quantum computing software suite called SpinQit to act as a bridge between quantum computing algorithms and quantum physical systems. This is complementary to the Taurus Cloud Platform.

In September 2022 SpinQ announced it has completed a pre-B round of financing, raising 90 million yuan (about US$12.7 million).
