Spreadtrum to support Sumsung’s Tizen operating system
The Z1 runs the Tizen 2.3 OS and integrates Spreadtrum’s SC7727S mobile chipset platform, which features a 1.2 Ghz dual-core WCDMA processor. The device, which retails for $92, also sports a 3.1 megapixel camera, 4 GB of on-board memory, and is bundled with a variety of content and service offers.
Dr. Leo Li, Spreadtrum’s chairman and CEO, commented, "We are very proud to partner with Samsung to add the Tizen operating system to our portfolio of supported OS, and to work together to promote the adoption of smartphones around the world.
