SSD hard disk contains Secure Element for confidential data
CryptoCore SSD’s security features ensure that only authorized applications and users have access to the confidential data. CryptoCore SSD stores the data on a tamper-proof chip that is tightly integrated into the SSD hard disk. Thus, critical data and non-critical user data are separated from each other. The known risk that unauthorized third parties can gain access to or manipulate confidential data with “infected”, uncritical data is significantly reduced without any additional effort for the user.
CryptoCore SSD is a standardized, certifiable product. The solution is particularly interesting for users and applications in the health care sector (i. e. physicians in private practices and hospitals), the aerospace industry, in the legal sector (e. g. law firms and patent offices) as well as in all other sectors with high security requirements for data protection and confidentiality. CryptoCore SSD can be implemented retrospectively, is centrally manageable and enables regular and long-term updates for the integrated tamper-proof chip.
The product has an M. 2 interface (Key B) which is typically used in industrial applications and was developed for internal computer expansion cards and corresponding ports.
The SSD is offered with the JavaCard-based Smartcard operating system from G+D Sm@rtCafé Expert 7.0, which supports a variety of crypto functions such as AES, RSA, Elliptic Curve and SHA 512. By coating with epoxy resin, the modules are resistant and protected against external environmental influences. CryptoCore SSD is compatible with MS Windows, Linux, Apple MacOS and various smartcard middleware products. The storage device is manufactured in Germany to the highest quality standards.
