ST, Unex introduce integrated V2X development platform
Unex SOM-301 is an independent System-on-Module that integrates all essential hardware and software components for V2X applications and features V2Xcast technology from Unex. The SOM-301 devices include ST’s Teseo III multi-constellation GNSS chip, designed for automotive applications, and Autotalks’ CRATON2/PLUTON2 globally deployable and fully fused V2X chipset, which supports DSRC and C-V2X (PC5) connectivity.
The Telemaco3P Modular Telematics Platform provides an open development environment for prototyping advanced smart driving applications. Its central element is ST’s Telemaco3P Secure Automotive Processor, which has an embedded, isolated hardware security module to provide state-of-the-art protection. In addition, the platform offers positioning hardware with the automotive-grade multi-constellation GNSS IC Teseo and sensors for dead reckoning. It also offers direct connection to automotive buses such as CAN-FD, FlexRay and BroadR-Reach (100Base-T1) as well as optional modules for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and LTE.
The V2Xcast software stack from Unex enables extended V2X processing capabilities. The CRATON2 of the SOM-301 takes care of the protected V2X communication on one side, while the Telemaco3P is responsible for the applications and bundles the V2X messages with data from on-board buses, Wi-Fi and mobile radio.
The integration of Unex’s production-ready SOM-301 with ST’s Telemaco3P Modular Telematics Platform results in a solution that can be easily customized at the hardware and software levels, enabling prototyping of near-final V2V and V2I applications and shortening time to market.
