Stadium Group introduces platform design for IoT connectivity
The company’s S-series is a flexible and scalable platform that offers a cheaper alternative to a full custom service. Developed in Stadium’s connectivity design centre in Kista, Sweden, the initial platform in the series is a vehicle tracking device that implements GNSS, 3G and Bluetooth technology. The S-track Nano can be self-installed and provides real-time tracking of a vehicle’s position, speed and acceleration using A-GPS and a 3-axis accelerometer. Diagnostics and statistics are collected through the CAN interface and communicated over the cellular network.
The S-track Nano platform comes in a small package, which is around 70% complete in terms of usability, leaving space for the customer to add its own IP. The process is quick and leaves customers in control of their own IP.
More S-series platform devices are being developed for other vertical markets, including an asset/cargo tracker, a BT sensor and an inventory control unit. These new units will all be available this year.
