The new standalone INLC10AQ ISELED driver is in volume production and has been AEC-Q100 qualified. The chip has designed to be used in the construction of custom LED chains which are controlled through a bidirectional two-wire differential bus. The solution allows a maximum of 4079 daisy-chained LED driver & controller devices in a single array. Smart LED modules that integrate both the driver & controller and RGB LEDs in a single package are available from vendors both in high volume and automotive qualified.

The Inova INLC10AQ provides functions including colour/brightness control and low light dimming support. It also supports the calibration of an LED’s brightness, while the dominant wavelength provides temperature compensation for red LEDs. It incorporates a built-in one-time programmable (OTP) memory for the storage of calibration and compensation data values, getting rid of the requirement for LED binning. The driver & controller chip features a built-in oscillator to eliminate the need for additional external components. The chip only needs a single supply voltage as it integrates an LDO, temperature sensor and diagnostic features.

Several INLC10AQ devices or other ISELED products can be daisy chained through the differential bidirectional serial bus with 2 Mbps and CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check). The chip has three independent, constant current sinks that are controlled by a 488 Hz, 12 bit PWM. In an LED chain, each device is individually addressable through the serial bus.

The INLC10AQ is a mixed signal device in a 16-lead, WETQFN package. The device measures only 3mm x 3mm x 0.9mm. It can operate in the temperature range from -40°C to 105°C and the device has been qualified in accordance with the AEC-Q100 automotive test specifications.
