Stereo HiFi audio streaming over Bluetooth LE demonstrated
The proof-of-concept shows wireless stereo audio streaming over BLE that will enable True Wireless Stereo (TWS) systems to operate using only BLE technology, instead of the combination of Bluetooth and BLE technologies used currently. The combination of the technologies to distribute the sound between left and right channels, can result in imbalanced battery usage and limited battery life.
Dialog’s solution for audio over BLE is based on the company’s SmartBond SoC’s. It allows audio synchronization between left and right channels, and is based around the BLE standard alone.
The True Wireless Stereo Audio over BLE proof of concept was demonstrated at Bluetooth World 2018 in Santa Clara, California, from September 18-19, 2018.
