The Luma LED luminaires are equipped with an intelligent driver which allows programming the respective luminaire according to the project requirements. The customer can choose which aspects are most important for his project – maximum efficiency and service life or the least possible initial investment. Thus, the Luma LED family covers a huge luminous flux range from 850 lumens (lm) to 49.600 lm. Thus, the new Philips product family enables users to save up to 40 % in total cost of ownership even if compared with high pressure sodium vapour lamps – which are said to be already very cost efficient. Compared to mercury vapour luminaires the savings potential frequently exceeds the 70% mark, says Philips.

Luma LED luminaires are available in four form factors: The MiniLuma is designed for low mounting heights in residential areas whereas the largest family member, the Luma 3 covers the requirements of large main thoroughfares and multi-lane motorways. Since the lumen ranges of the products overlap, customers have ample margins for their individual preferences.

Philips provides a software tool to determine the ideal lighting solution for any given problem. The tool takes into account factors such as the target light intensity, light temperature and service life and enables customers to find the best balance of upfront investments and long-term savings through low operation costs.

The Luma family comes with a specific thermal management enabling the luminaires to last up to 100.000 operating hours.
