Strong June sales take TSMC above Q2 guidance

TSMC’s sales in June were NT$207.87 billion (about US$6.40 billion), down 9.5 percent sequentially but up 32.9 percent compared with a year before.

As a result TSMC’s 2Q24 sales are running at about US$20.8 billion, which his ahead of the guidance of between US$19.6 billion and US$20.4 billion the company gave alongside its 1Q24 financial results.

TSMC’s sales for the 1H24 are NT$1,266.15 billion (about US$39.0 billion), up 28.0 percent compared with 1H23.

Sales at fellow Taiwanese foundry UMC were NT$17.55 billion (about US$540 million) a sequential drop of about 10 percent and down 7.9 percent compared with June 2023 sales. UMC’s year-to-date sales were NT$111.43 billion (about US$3.43 billion), up 0.8 percent compared with the first six months of 2023.
