Surface mount GPS RF antenna modules target embedded GPS and M2M applications
Both the M10477 and M10478 are low profile, fully optimized, complete GPS receiver modules comprising a CSR SiRFstarIV™ low-power navigation processor, all front-end RF components and Antenova’s high performing GPS antenna. Designed to be a convenient drop in solution, M10477 and M10478 RF antenna modules benefit from the comapny’s novel external matching for greater design flexibility.
"The M10477 and M10478 modules are the result of customer demand for lower profile, surface mountable versions with the market leading SiRFstarIV GPS engine,” stated Greg McCray, CEO of Antenova.
The M10477 is a small 24.2 x 9.9 x 3.8 mm3 complete GPS receiver module in a popular SMD form factor and benefits from the company’s GPS antenna utilizing the latest Laser Direct Structuring (LDS) technology. The M10478 claims to be the industry’s smallest and lowest profile GPS radio antenna module, providing optimal GPS reception, in tiny 13.8 x 9.5 x 1.8 mm3 space.
The M10477 and M10478 incorporate the SiRFstarIV GSD4E 9333 GPS IC and all front end components with Antenova’s high performing GPS antenna technology in convenient, easy to integrate single package modules. Both modules operate on a single 1.8 V positive supply with low power consumption and several low power modes for further power savings. They are supported by SiRF stand-alone software and are compatible with UART, SPI and I2C host processor interfaces. The M10477 and M10478 also benefit from the company’s novel external matching which offers ease of tuning for each device platform.
