Sync 2 again with Microsoft O/S
Sync 2 controls the infotainment system of Ford’s new model Focus which will be shown for the first time in Germany at the Auto Mobil International (AMI ) trade show in Leipzig from May 31 through June 8. The system features a 8" high-resolution display with touch screen function. The navigation has a split-screen display with detailed route instructions and improved target entry: The target address is no longer entered in a step-by-step process but instead can be spoken in one single instruction.
Besides navigation targets, the voice control also covers audio, climate and mobile phone functions. The voice recognition technology has been bought from a "renowned technology partner", but the company did not want to disclose the name of this partner. After all, a Ford spokesperson explained that the voice recognition software runs locally, no connection to cloud-based services is required.
