
Synchronous multi-channel acquisition with LXI-format digitizers
Each channel of a DN6.49x series digitizer is equipped with a high precision 16-bit analogue-to-digital converter and a front-end amplifier with six input ranges from ±200 mV up to ±10V, switchable input impedance (50Ω and 1 MΩ) and programmable offset. Users can choose between models that offer maximum sampling rates of 10 or 60 Msample/sec with on-board acquisition memory of either 64 MSamples (128 MB) or 128 MSamples (256 MB) per channel.
For maximum measurement versatility, the input channels can be single ended or differential, delivering from 12 to 24 true differential inputs. All the ADCs are clocked synchronously to ensure signal timing and inter-channel phase relationships are always preserved. The flexible front-end and clocking systems are complemented by advanced trigger circuitry to capture the widest range of input signals. For example, each individual trigger input can be combined with others to create conditional pattern triggers with standard AND/OR logic.
The DN6.49x series also delivers accuracy and precision; the 16 bit ADCs typically offer much better resolution than other measuring systems, such as scopes or analyzers, and optimized digitizer performance allows the finest signal details to be detected. Acquisition modes include single shot (Transient Recording), streaming (FIFO), segmented (Multiple Recording), gated (Gated Sampling) or a combination of segmented and slow chart recorder operation (ABA mode). The units comply with the LXI instrumentation standard (following the LXI Device Specification 2011 rev. 1.4); remote control is achieved through a simple GBit Ethernet port, which allows connection to any PC or local area network (LAN). For remote operation, Spectrum offers an embedded server option, DN6.xxx-Emb, that combines a powerful CPU, a freely accessible SSD, more memory and a remote software development access method.
Spectrum’s SBench 6-Pro software, standard with every unit, provides control of all operating modes and hardware settings from one graphical user interface. Included drivers allow users to write their own control programs using many popular programming languages, including C++, Visual Basic, VB.NET, C#, J#, Delphi, IVI and Python code. Third party software support is also provided for LabVIEW, LabWindows and MATLAB.
