Synopsys buys Invecas analog IP assets

Invecas Inc. (Santa Clara, Calif.) is an IP core licensor and ASIC design services provider with engineering resources in India. Invecas will retain its HDMI IP and ASIC design services businesses (see Invecas buys Lattice’s HDMI assets). Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Synopsys said the acquisition will broaden its DesignWare logic library, general purpose I/O, embedded memory, interface and analog IP portfolio and bring a team of engineers in to the company. The transaction, which is expected to close in the first half of fiscal 2020.

“With this acquisition, Synopsys is broadening our DesignWare IP portfolio to address the requirements of consumer, IoT and automotive designs and adding a strong R&D engineering team to meet the growing IP needs of our customers,” said Joachim Kunkel, general manager of the solutions group at Synopsys, in a statement.
