System-on-module is smallest i.MX6ULL device for embedded control
With a size of 22 x 37 mm the OPOS6UL_NANO uses a form factor derived from the M.2/NGFF standard suiting it for portable systems. It hosts an NXP i.MX6ULL/iMX6UL processor (Cortex A7 core) using a clock frequency between 528MHz and 900MHz, to which is added 256 to 512 MBytes DDR3L 800MHz, a 4 GB to 32 GBytes eMMC, an Ethernet PHY and optionally, a pre-certified Wi-Fi b/g/n + Bluetooth (BLE compatible).
There is connectivity for most commonly used peripherals such as I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, USB OTG, CAN bus, parallel Camera, and parallel 24bits display.
In addition to the i.MX6ULL performance and extendability, the key features of this SOM are:
* pricing starting from $20.50 (1000), for the basic model without Wi-Fi/BLE
* simple and cost effective mechanical integration, thanks to the M.2/NGFF connector
* it’s software ecosystem: Open Software Development Kit with Linux or NuttX Board Support Packages. Linux BSP includes Qt5 custom rootfs thanks to Buildroot or full Debian distribution
* integrated wireless communication with on-board U.FL connector as an option
* 10 years lifetime warranty
* extended industrial temperature if needed (-40°C +85°C without WiFi/BT)
The Opos6UL_dev development board can be used during the development phase and features a RPi2+ compatible connector. The complete development kit is offered for €60 (beofre taxes) for the launch campaign (November 2017). Pre-series modules are available for key customers.
