eeNews Europe Interview with Krste Asanovic about the benefits of RISC-V OpenISA

It was in the summer of 2010 that Krste and a group of students decided to do a complete new Instruction Set Architecture design. They tested and tried the existing ISAs available but always ran into the same limitation – the Isa was not shareable due to IP restrictions.

They sat down and worked on and Open ISA that could be shared and was future proof, the result, RISC-V

eeNews Europe was talking with Krste Asanovic, (professor of Berkeley University and (co) founder of SiFive), and discussed the past and future of this architecture that is gaining more and more importance in all sorts of applications.
