These can be used for measurement in energy management applications in buildings, windows, industrial equipment. The basic sensor/circuit design can also be made available as IP that can be integrated into ASICs and SoCs.
The sensor signal is proportional to the energy flow between the regions, with sensitivities of several mV per degree K.
The microFlux Tracker range of sensors over the operating temperature range from -20°C to 200°C. The sensors provide signals ranging from 6mV/K to 10mV/K of temperature difference. The sensors can be provided in plastic LGA packages measuring 2mm by 2mm, as bare bumped dice or integrated onto laminated or flexible substrates.
Inclusion within laminated glass for monitoring heat loss is one potential application of the technology.
