The Sycamore-W is a MEMS near-field speaker in a package measuring 20mm by 4mm by 1.28mm that weighs 150mg.
The manufacturer, xMEMS Inc. (Santa Clara, Calif.) claims it is the world’s thinnest improving the suitability for smartwatches and wearables.
The original Sycamore micro-speaker was introduced in late 2024. The Sycamore-W reduces the speaker package volume by 70 percent, enabling slimmer form factors. It provides IP58-rated protection and 10,000g shock resistance.
The original Sycamore continues to be available to serve larger wearable applications, such as smart glasses, open-fit earbuds and laptops. Additional Sycamore variants are being developed.
Samples of the Sycamore W are available to special customers now with volume production expected 2Q26.
