The new C2000 F28004x MCU range features a floating-point unit, maths accelerators, and has an option for parallel processing to supplement the performance of the 100MHz CPU. Developers can also cut down BoM costs by using the analogue functions of the 28004x MCUs, which include three 12-bit ADCs with post-processing hardware, synchronization capabilities and programmable gain amplifiers, compator, DAC subsystem and sigma-delta filter interface.
The MCUs offer 60% less active power consumption than previous Piccolo devices through an internal DC/DC converter. Advanced switching control can also be achieved through the internal high-resolution PWM.
